Ireland leg-spinner Ben White retires from representative cricket at 28

The ICC published a report titled “Ireland bowler calls time on international cricket,” announcing that Ireland leg-spinner Ben White had officially retired from representative cricket at age 28. White finished his international career with 41 wickets for Ireland across all three formats, and his final appearance came against Bangladesh in December 2025.

He first came through the pathway during the Ireland Wolves' tour of Bangladesh in early 2021, then made his senior international debut later that year. The tall, angular wrist-spinner was selected in Ireland's squads for three ICC Men’s T20 World Cups: 2021, 2024 and 2026.

White featured in Tests, ODIs and T20Is, with the shortest format described as where he proved most effective. In T20I cricket, he averaged a wicket every 20 balls; his career-best spell was 4/20 against Afghanistan in 2024.
