Australia and England set for eight white-ball fixtures from 13 November

Australia has named squads for eight white-ball fixtures against England, comprising three ODIs and five T20Is from 13 November. The series begins in Perth, and Australia has left experienced pacers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood out of its squad.

The report says those three pacers are preparing for upcoming ICC World Test Championship series against New Zealand and India. Nathan Ellis will miss the ODI component while recovering from a side strain he picked up against South Africa in September.

Australia’s 14-player ODI squad includes former ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup players Mahli Beardman and Oliver Peake, as well as all-rounders Jack Edwards and Liam Scott. Nikhil Chaudhary, Joel Davies, Lachlan Shaw and Sam Harper are among the fresh faces in the T20I squad.

Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis and Cooper Connolly will play in the ODIs but skip the T20Is. Selection chair George Bailey said the matches offer players a chance to demonstrate their ability against strong opposition, and said Scott had grown his game through recent performances.
