Sri Lanka confirm Pathum Nissanka will miss Pakistan Tests

The ICC published a report titled “Sri Lanka lose key batter to injury for Pakistan Tests,” and Sri Lanka confirmed Pathum Nissanka would miss the upcoming series against Pakistan. The star batter is continuing his recovery from injury, according to the confirmation reported by the ICC.

Nissanka was included in Sri Lanka’s original Test squad subject to fitness clearance, but he could not recover in time for the series. Lahiru Udara has been named as his replacement for the two-Test series, which commences in Rawalpindi on 9 November.

Udara will join the Test squad ahead of the series and is already part of Sri Lanka’s ODI squad for the tri-series. Nissanka’s injury also kept him out of Sri Lanka’s recent T20I series and ODI tri-series against England and the hosts in Pakistan. In that tri-series, Sri Lanka recently completed the second-highest run chase in ODI history against England.
