Pakistan bowler reprimanded after ODI incident involving England

The ICC reprimanded Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and fined him 20 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the ODI against England in Lahore on Sunday. The breach relates to conduct contrary to the spirit of the game, according to the ICC Code provision cited in the report.

The incident occurred at the end of the 46th over of Pakistan’s innings, when Rauf appealed for a wide from the non-striker’s end and argued with England all-rounder Will Jacks. Rauf raised his bat and continued the exchange after umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid warned him, then brushed past the umpire while walking towards Jacks.

The reprimand added one demerit point to Rauf’s disciplinary record, bringing his total to five; it was his third offence within 24 months. Separately, England were fined 15 per cent of their match fee for being three overs short of their target after time allowances were taken into account, and no formal hearings were required.
