Australia tour of South Africa moved to after inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy

The ICC published a report announcing that Australia’s maiden tour of South Africa has been moved to after the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy. The six-team tournament is scheduled for India from 14 to 28 February, 2027, and will include Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

South Africa and Australia are set to begin their multi-format series on 24 March, with the series continuing until 18 April, following their participation in the tournament. The tour will open with a 3-match T20I series, followed by as many ODIs and then a one-off Test at Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium in KuGompo City.

The Test will be the first Women’s Test at the venue, according to the report on the revised schedule. Cricket South Africa Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said hosting Australia for the first time would be a special occasion, while the tournament’s matches will be held in Mumbai and Vadodara.
